Þórarinn Guðmundsson Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum	A fragment of the short story of the classical violin music in Iceland Sigurjóns Ólafsson Museum Tuesday February 14th 2023 at 8 pm Hlíf Sigurjónsdóttir violin and Povl Christian Balslev piano The first Icelandic violinist to be classically trained was Þórarinn Guðmundsson (1896−1979). After his studies in Denmark he returned to Iceland 1913, where he taught and performed the violin.     Pieces from his repetoire and works by him will be per­formed, some of which on a violin he favored.
